This dynamic and interactive program lays the groundwork for fostering a truly inclusive educational institute—that not only produces innovation, but results in happier and healthier teams. Issues like Body shaming, Bullying, Social media trolling, Gender bashing, Isolation of Specially Abled, Children with learning differences, Underprivileged, LGBTQI , and other Cliques and Outcasts is increasing in schools in India. The core cause of such behaviour is lack of appreciating diversity and unconscious bias.
Through this workshop, we
- sensitize the students through discussions, role plays, activities and projects about tolerance, awareness, redefining diversity and respect. When students experience struggles, perspectives, and feelings that everyone goes through, they tend to reflect on and respond to that information.
- help the schools embrace Inclusion through creating platforms for inviting, retaining, engaging diversity and a Balance scorecard to measure how diversity promotes innovation at institutes
- Have I stayed away from someone because of their race, gender, or other uncontrollable factors?
- Do I believe certain stereotypes that are limiting my influence or making me appear judgmental?
- Am i being an insightful person and are these cliques and biases shaping my real identity?
When honest, open-ended discussions and activities about diversity occur within the classroom, teachers can also facilitate productive conversation and embrace teachable moments to help promote personal growth in each student. This project encourages students and schools to embrace diversity and hence allows students to integrate happiness with success in life, and human beings who are kind to others and respectful of people’s differences.
We work with educational institutes committed to real change.
Couple of short films that students have created on the issue of inclusion
Soch
Soch (Think) is a thought provoking film on the alienation of Inclusion in Urban India. The park where various scenes are depicted is a reflection of the society, or the world that we live in. The short film seeks to show the vibrant, living modern communities of India, where each story is inspired by research and experiences of prejudices and subconscious discrimination.
The Others
The Others depicts the marginalisation of people and various prejudices associated with class. This aims to create a sense of awareness about inclusion and mitigate inequality.
